•ASSURE
is model for the preparation and utilization of instructional media in
education
–This model was developed by HEINICH
ET.AL. In their book entitled
instructional Media and the New technologies of instruction.
–The model is designed to “ASSURE” that
the expected learning outcomes are planned for and achieved.

Analyze Learners
–There
is a need to match the characteristic of the learner with the content and
presentation of a lesson.
–it is
useful to consider to consider age, level of literacy, level of motivation,
range of abilities, etc.
–Consideration
should be given to the known competencies in the learner & whether any
prerequisite competencies have been achieve

•S --- Select Media & Materials
–Consideration
should be given to the setting ( large group/small group/self paced), the
analysis of the lesson (cognitive, affective, psychomotor), and the
availability and presentational capacities of each medium.
•U --- Utilize Materials
–In
brief, preview the materials, practice the presentation, prepare the
environment, prepare the audience and present!
•R
--- Require Learner Response
–Participation
in the learning process enhance to practice the capability being taught. The
most effective learning situations are those that require learner performance
of activities that build toward the objective.

•E --- evaluate/Revise
–Evaluation
should include measurement of student achievement against the stated
objectives; assessment of the instructional process. The results of the
evaluation process should be built into revised and new instructional programs.
